Gate Installation Kit
As seen on the Bob Vila tv show and Bob Vila.com
The beauty of today’s homes is the diversity of designs and materials used for stairways, room openings and doorways. Because of this, the installation of child safety gates can be difficult since a “one size fits all” gate design does not exist.
KidCo has assembled the materials and fasteners necessary to properly install any child safety gate to wood banisters, hollow wall (drywall) or wrought iron. The KidCo Gate Installation Kit can save several trips to the lumber yard and hardware store. When mounting the gates to unusual surfaces such as brick or concrete, KidCo recommends that you consult a hardware professional, baby shop or baby proofing specialist.
One kit is required for each side of the gate that is not being mounted into a solid vertical wood surface and only the most basic tools are needed to assemble any good child safety gate.
Pictures show the following types of installations:
- Wood Banister Installation using plastic ties
- Wood Banister Installation using wood screws
- Hollow Wall (Drywall) Installation
- Wrought Iron Installation

The KidCo K100 Gate Installation Kit can be used at the top or bottom of stairs. The kit contains a variety of hardware to provide the installation that is best for your mounting area. We do recommend that the plastic tie straps be used only at the bottom of stairs for a pressure mount installation. k100 is rated out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Daddy from Wrought Iron Solution Bought four kits so I could install my gate on our wrought iron railings. Brilliant way to sandwich the two boards together giving me a surface to mount the gate hardware. Now it's safe, secure and does not damage the metal railing.
